Madame Bella Cummins talks about her brothel during the COVID-19 outbreak

Wells Nevada is halfway between Elko and West Wendover in far northeastern Nevada. There are five churches and two brothels in town, Donna’s and Bella’s Hacienda Ranch.

Bella Cummins is sole proprietor of her namesake business. She also owns Bella’s Restaurant and Espresso in Wells with her daughter. Last year she launched the Onesta Foundation, a nonprofit sex industry advocacy and education organization.

I interviewed Madame Bella in 2018 when she launched the Onesta Foundation, and she related a long history of discrimination against her business and industry. When I spoke with her last week, she says nothing has changed.
